'Biggest Loser' Guru Angie Dowds' Suicide Inquest Reveals Heartache To Blame

The inquest into the death of The Biggest Loser's fitness guru Angie Dowds has heard that she sent a text message moments before jumping from an infamous suicide spot in Sussex.

The heartbroken 42-year-old took her own life by leaping from the Beachy Head cliffs after losing her job and her girlfriend in quick succession.

Davina McCall, with whom Angie starred on the hit ITV1 weight loss show, led the tributes back in November when Angie's body was discovered by police.

"Rest in peace Angie Dowds," she wrote. "So so sad."

Before killing herself, Angie sent a text message to her former partner, Edwina Benson, saying "My heart's broken; my spirit's broken", according to the Daily Mail.

She added: "On your head be it" and "I'll be at peace very soon."

Upon learning that she was at Beachy Head, Benson alerted the police.

The inquest heard that Dowds had drink and drugs in her system, and had been struggling with addiction in the past.

Yesterday her brother Kevin Dowds accused doctors of letting down the tragic star after she refused treatment with mental health services.

"I feel she's been failed. Letting her decide whether she continues with mental health doesn't seem appropriate to me," he said.
