Scott Disick's first venture into the restaurant business has proved to be very short-lived after he was reportedly forced to close his New York eatery after just six months.

The reality TV star, whose long-term partner is Kourtney Kardashian, has shut up his Japanese restaurant Ryu after Hurricane Sandy blew through the city in October.

The resturant, which stopped selling its Asian cuisine last month to become a diner-style takeaway, closed as the storm swept Manhattan but didn't reopen,

According to Life and Style, the restaurant, which is in the city's trendy Meatpacking District, also suffered poor sales and its Open Table site and Twitter page have been closed down.

A source said Disick, 29, has not had anything to do with Ryu for a while, having severed all ties with the business several months ago to focus on other projects, including filming 'Kourtney & Kim Take Miami'.

But its closure is still bound to be a disappointment to Disick who launched Ryu with a huge star-studded party attended by his girlfriend's sister Kim and her R&B star boyfriend Kanye West.
