Brace Yourselves! Miley Cyrus Announces 2014 UK Tour Dates

Miley Cyrus will be bringing her twerking antics to Europe next year as the controversial 'Wrecking Ball' singer announced that she will be bringing her 'Bangerz' tour to the UK in 2014.

The 21-year-old has already gotten fans anticipating her North American tour dates which kick off on Valentine's Day (February 14) and it has now been confirmed that she will head overseas just a couple of months later with the UK leg of the jaunt kicking off on May 6 with a show at London's O2 Arena before moving onto Leeds' First Direct Arena on May 10.

Miley will take on Glasgow's SSE Hyrdro Arena on May 12 as well as Manchester's Phones 4U Arena on May 14 before finishing off the short five-date stint with a show at the NIA in Birmingham on May 16. Tickets for the UK dates go on sale this Friday (December 13) at 9am when fans will no doubt rush to snap up the seats within minutes.

The tour is in support of Miley's latest album 'Bangerz' which stormed the charts back in October and features the hit songs 'We Can't Stop' and 'Wrecking Ball,' both of which have enjoyed several weeks at number one around the world. Icona Pop and Sky Ferreira have been chosen as the support acts for the North American dates while she is yet to announce who will be joining her for the UK stint.

The '#Getitright' singer has been giving fans a teaser of what to expect from the upcoming dates after putting on quite a show for fans at the KIIS FM Jingle Ball in Los Angeles over the weekend where she proceeded to gyrate and twerk on a 'bad santa' while on stage. Perhaps fuelling previous rumours of a romance between them, Miley chose her best friend Cheyne Thomas to play the naughty Father Christmas and even jokingly pulled a microphone out from near his crotch.

Miley appears to be battling with an illness at the moment as she tweeted last night: “Vocal rest. vocal vocal vocal rest,” and had earlier tweeted that she was worried about performing without her mother Tish Cyrus watching from the wings, telling followers: “Scared to do a show without my mommy there feel better MT @tishcyrus #jingleball.”

O2 Arena, London - 6 May

First Direct Arena, Leeds - 10 May
