Dr Dre's $3.2 Billion Beats Electronics Deal With Apple To Be Cancelled?

Dr Dre may have to wait a little longer before he can splurge on his ever-growing bank balance, as it has been claimed that Apple are causing major delays to their deal with the hip-hop producer, which will reportedly see him sell his Beats Electronics company for $3.2 billion.

The 55-year-old was seen celebrating in a video posted online by Tyrese Gibson earlier this month after news broke that he had signed an eye-watering deal with technology giant Apple, which would see him become hip-hop's first billionaire.

However, it is believed the deal is yet to be finalised and Billboard reports that Apple weren't best pleased that the news was leaked before the papers were finalised and are delaying the final proceedings.

Hinting at the delays, one source told the publication: “Remember this is the biggest deal they’ve ever done, and it’s CEO Tim Cook’s first really big deal.”

Another insider, who is reportedly close to the lucrative discussions, says that the giant brand are annoyed that the news was leaked before they had fully worked out what they were getting from the deal.

Apple are also said to be furious that Dre, real name Andre Romelle Young, was seen appearing to celebrate becoming the first rap billionaire in the video alongside Fast & Furious star Tyrese Gibson, popping bottles of alcohol and mentioning his new financial status.

Another gripe for the company, which has created the iPhone and iPad, is said to be how Dre and his Beats business partner Jimmy Iovine would fit into their company in executive roles.
