Frank Ocean has been named in Out magazine's list of the most influential gay public figures of 2013 along with Ellen DeGeneres, Jodie Foster and other famous names.

The 'Thinking About You' star gained massive support from stars such as Beyonce, Busta Rhymes and Snoop Lion, when he revealed that he had once been in love with a man becoming one of the first hip-hop and R&B artists to do so, casting light on homophobia in the genres.

Other notable appearances come from America's favourite daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, who just missed out on the top spot coming second. Designer Marc Jacobs who scraped into the top 20 at 19. Glee creator Ryan Murphy came third on the list, while the show's star Jane Lynch trailed behind him at 14.

Surprisingly Jodie Foster who publically came out during the Golden Globes earlier this year failed to make the list at all.

However, it was Tim Cook, the 52-year-old CEO of Apple who topped the list yet again for a third year running.

Frank Ocean recently announced two dates at London's Brixton Academy on 9 July and July 10. He will also be making appearances at this year's Glastonbury festival and will support Justin Timberlake at the Wireless Festival on July 12.
