Are James Franco and Lady Gaga new BFFs?

It seems like James Franco and Lady Gaga have become Hollywood's most surprising new besties.

The actor and the chart-topping singer have been seeing a lot of each other recently, and have been quick to share their photos together on Instagram.

James started the ball rolling by heading out to see Gaga perform a concert on her birthday on Friday (28Mar14) and posted a photo of them together after the New York show with the caption "Happy B'day Gaga".

He didn't say if he'd enjoyed her concert, but he seemed pretty taken with the Poker Face singer's outfit. Being Gaga, her white outfit had an animal's head to the side of her shoulder, and James had his hand on it in the snap.

But that wasn't the last of their weekend fun together, as the following evening (29Mar14) James posted another photo of them together after a performance of his Broadway play Of Mice and Men. This time there were other people in the snap, including Gaga's boyfriend Taylor Kinney.

He also didn't miss the opportunity to promote his new play, writing, "Lady Gaga came and loved it!". Gaga again had the most interesting outfit choice in the snap, wearing a pink fluffy top and hat while the others were dressed in T-shirts and hoodies. She also appeared to be carrying a handbag that looked like Boo the dog.
