Jonnie Irwin admitted he has been "feeling unwell" but still managed to spend a "full on" weekend making memories with his family.

The former A Place In The Sun presenter — who announced in November 2022 he has terminal lung cancer — took his children to a monster truck show and funfair and attended a Christening party with his wife, all in one day.

Irwin shared on Instagram: "Been pretty unwell this past week but felt better this morning so headed off to watch some Monster trucks. Kids loved it, got soaked in the rain, quick change when we got home to go again at a Christening party. Full on Sunday."

The 49-year-old TV presenter — who was was given six months by doctors to live back in 2020 — shared pictures of his busy weekend with his three sons — four-and-a-half-year-old Rex and three-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac — and wife Jess.

Irwin also revealed he had spent Saturday walking around an outdoor antiques show searching for bargains and playing golf.

The Escape To The Country presenter, who recently admitted he has "up days and down days", said he was proud of his poor golfing skills, admitted a few weeks previously he felt too weak to even pick up a golf club.

He captioned a clip on social media: "For your amusement I’ve even posted one of my early swings. They didn’t get much better but I couldn’t pick a club up 4 weeks ago so don’t mind."

Irwin is currently undergoing palliative care for his incurable cancer which has spread to his brain.

The TV presenter has previously said doctors did not expect him to see 2023.

He has updated fans throughout the summer with photos of himself making the most of time with his family, including wife Jess.

They have enjoyed a family day out to a wildlife park in Yorkshire, a staycation at the beach in Northumberland, and a relaxing stay at a four star hotel in Worcestershire.

Irwin kept his diagnosis a secret for two years, and when he told producers of the Channel 4 holiday property show he had terminal cancer, he was dropped because he was told they were unable to insure him to work.

He said he felt "thrown on the scrap heap".

Chemotherapy and cancer drugs have helped extend the initial prognosis and the TV presenter is determined to make the most of any time he has left with his family.

Irwin told BBC's Morning Live in July: "I'm really good. I have up days and down days, but today's very much an up day. The family are great and very noisy."

In July Irwin revealed that he has been receiving palliative care for the past three years, insisting that hospice care did not have to mean "doom and gloom".

Irwin attended the TRIC Awards in June and said: "I wanted to show that because you have cancer it doesn't mean you are a different person.

“You can still work. Look at me now. I don't think the doctors were expecting me to make 2023 but here I am and I'm available at work."
