She's been balancing her life as a newly single mother and hard-working woman since splitting from Tom Cruise, so when Katie Holmes arrived for her last performance of Dead Accounts, she looked a little relieved.

The 34-year-old actress beamed with happiness as she strolled through New York, despite the fact that her return to the stage has been less than a success.

Katie held her head up high as she arrived for the final night of her Broadway show Dead Accounts due to the show being cancelled after dismal ticket sales.

But the mother of Suri Cruise looked gorgeous nevertheless in a chic military style navy coat (check this super cute one out from Asos) worn over a white lace semi sheer dress and opaque tights.

She finished off the look with pointed black heels featuring nude straps along with a gold-chained brown shoulder bag and her hair worn loosely, covering up her make-up free face with Jackie O style black sunnies.

Dead Accounts marked Katie's first project following her shock divorce from Hollywood hubby Tom Cruise, and despite the mixed reviews for her performance, she's obviously enjoyed being back on stage.

The show was supposed to run until early February but is finishing a month early due to poor ticket sales.

Producer of Dead Accounts, Jeffrey Finn, said in a statement: ''I am extremely proud of this production and the cast.

Theresa Rebeck and Jack O’Brien have created an inspiring and hilarious new play and we are all sad to see Dead Accounts end on Broadway.''

''I look forward to working with this remarkably talented cast and creative team again very soon.''
