Katy Perry and John Mayer have looked completely loved up and happy over recent weeks, so we were stunned when sources came forward to reveal that the celeb couple have called their relationship quits.

According to reports at US Weekly, John Mayer and Katy Perry - who reconciled in September 2012 following their first breakup - have called time on their relationship.

But, conveniently enough, the sources have hinted that the break may not be a permanent one:

"It's sad [but] It's not over until it's over. You have to see how things play out."

"She's leaving the window open. They have both been so focused on work."

We're tempted to believe that these reports may not be definite; after all, Katy Perry was happily tweeting about John Mayer on March 2 2013.

"My boyfriend is taking me to a kitten shelter in his truck. I can't think of a more perfect Saturday."

Fingers crossed that all is well between Katy Perry and John Mayer - we don't think we can handle another celeb breakup this month!
