Lady Gaga's tour may have been named one of the biggest ever but it's feared that she could lose millions of dollars after cancelling her 'Born This Way Ball Tour' due to a hip injury.

The 'Bad Romance' star was forced to cancel the remaining dates of the US leg of her mammoth world tour this week, after discovering she would need to have surgery for a hip injury after suffering from an inflammation of joints.

However, it looks like Gaga may have a tough fight on her hands with insurers who may end up blaming the singer for continuing to add extra tour dates, putting pressure on her body.

“Gaga’s insurers will be going through her policy with a fine-toothed comb,” a source told The Sun. “They could argue her injury was her own fault for working too hard and scheduling too many dates – so she may be the one who ends up footing the bill.”

The 26-year-old admitted earlier this week that she knew she had an injury for a while but forced herself to carry on with the huge jaunt in a bid to avoid cancelling tour dates.

While she initially postponed a handful of shows, she was later forced to pull out completely after learning she would need a lengthy recovery period. The 'Born This Way Ball Tour' has lasted for more than a year and it has been named the fifth biggest tours ever, grossing more than $100 million.
