Little Mix, Ellie Goulding, James Arthur Confirmed For Top of the Pops Christmas & New Year Specials

Little Mix, James Arthur, Ellie Goulding and Jessie J are among the artists who have been confirmed for the line-up for this year's Top of the Pops Christmas and New Year bonanzas, bringing to a close what has been an eventful year in music.

Former chart show co-hosts Reggie Yates and Fearne Cotton have been announced as the hosts for the double bill which are set to be recorded at the Riverside Studios in London.

The first installment will take place on Christmas Day (December 25) at 2pm and will see performances from a bevy of pop's hottest stars including 'Burn' songstress Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, 'Counting Stars' hitmakers OneRepublic, The Saturdays, Rudimental, James Blunt, Chase & Status, Rizzle Kicks, Tom Odell, special guests Boyzone and Naughty Boy and Sam Smith who will perform their monster hit 'La La La.'

Meanwhile, the New Year show, which is scheduled for 5:30pm on December 31, boasts a line-up just as impressive with the likes of Little Mix, The Vamps, The 1975, Tinie Tempah and John Martin who will no doubt perform 'Children of the Sun, Ellie Goulding, Chase & Status featuring Jacob Banks, London Grammar, James Arthur and Jessie J.

Speaking about the upcoming specials, Reggie said: “Rather like Christmas dinner, falling asleep in front of the telly and celebrating with family, hosting Top of the Pops is fast becoming a yearly tradition for me and one I look forward to every year.

“With a great line up of acts this year's shows promise to be as epic as ever.”

The Saturdays, who scored their first ever number one single earlier this year with 'What About Us,' also revealed their excitement to be included in the festival specials with Mollie King saying: “It's such a legendary show and we watch it every year with our loved ones while celebrating the holidays,” while Frankie Sandford, who is on maternity leave after giving birth to her first child, son Parker, last month, added: “I personally couldn't be more excited to be back with the other girls for this special performance.”

In the midst of celebrations for their 20th anniversary, Boyzone added: “It was a dream come true when we first performed on Top of the Pops. The show has a special place in our hearts so to get the chance to perform on Top of the Pops Christmas as we celebrate BZ20 makes it all the more special for Boyzone.”
