REVIEW: The Best And Worst From Britain's Got Talent Featuring Ed Drewett And Comedian Ricky K

With the football FINALLY over (yes, yes well done Arsenal and commiserations to Hull) Britain's Got Talent could officially get started, and boy, what a great episode it was too. We had girl bands, puppeteers, impersonators, comedians and even a doggy disco. Was it worth the wait? We reckon so! Check out the best and worst from tonight's show below.

Well, it was a night of highs and lows, but luckily for you EntertainmentWise is here to round up the best (and worst!) acts from Britain's Got Talent. From show tunes to pole fitness, it certainly didn't disappoint.

The Best And Worst From Tonight's Show:

Ricky K

Let's start with the best of the night, shall we? Comedian Ricky K kicked things off with an ingenious comedy routine that made even Simon Cowell smile. The 33-year-old took to the stage in his bright pink suit looking extremely confident, but he'd already admitted to Ant and Dec that this was going to be a huge moment for him, as he told the Geordie pair that: “it feels like it's my last chance”.

Ricky K needn't have worried though. His Lee Evans-esque demeanor and his witty dance/comedy routine left everyone in stitches. We mean, any performance which includes Lionel Richie and Ylvis is always going to be a winner in our books. Despite the overwhelming response and four 'yes's from the judges, a disbelieving Ricky K told Ant and Dec: “[My family] don't even know I'm here. I told my family I'm in Skipton.”

Ed Drewett wowed the judges with his original song (ITV Pictures)

Ed Drewett

We'd been looking forward to this audition all night, following the previews we'd been able to see. Singer-song writer Ed Drewett, who has written for the likes of The Wanted and One Direction (Best Song Ever anyone?!) had decided that it was his time in the spotlight. The 26-year-old sang a rendition of his self-penned song, Blink and despite his obvious nerves, received a standing ovation and plenty of praise from the judging panel.

Despite an absent Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon were full of congratulations for the young hit-maker. “The lyrics were beautiful, I'm totally gutted that Simon isn't here because he would love you.” revealed Amanda, as pal Alesha added, “It's so nice for you to come out from behind the stage.”

Sweet Cheeks

Continuing the vocal success, it's time to introduce you to girl band Sweet Cheeks. The five-part group who hail from Essex, includes; 15-year-old Becca, 16-year-old Jess, 15-year-old Summer, 14-year-old Taylor and 15-year-old Georgia. Try to picture Little Mix meets The Only Way Is Essex and you've got Sweet Cheeks!

Although the girls cited Little Mix and the Spice Girls as their biggest influence, they opted to sing Back To Black by the late Amy Winehouse. The soulful track was perfect for showcasing their chords and it's clear that the judges were impressed when they all gave them the 'yes' vote! Even X Factor head honcho, Simon Cowell was happy, as he informed the ladies: “Your vocals were good, harmonies were good, I can see potential in you.”

However, it seemed as though the praise was proving to be too much for the girls as one quipped: “My eyelashes are going to fall off!”

David really got into Great Scott's performance! (ITV Pictures)

Joe Poulton (AKA The Prawn)

When Simon's away, the... shellfish... will play? Not the traditional saying we know, but we honestly don't know what to say about this*ahem* interesting addition to the show. Joe Poulton, AKA The Prawn, decided that the dance floors of Britain were missing something. That something? The prawn. A dance move which requires you to wiggle your fingers in front of your face like a prawn. Without Cowell's infinite wisdom, somehow Joe managed to slip through the net (geddit?) and got three 'yes's!

Daniel Horan

Next up was DJ Daniel Horan with his doggy disco which, in his own words, is a “British institution”. Now, we have the upmost respect for anyone who is willing to wear such a bold Union Flag waistcoat and so giving Dan the benefit of the doubt (who hasn't danced around the kitchen with their dog before?) we tried to keep an open mind.

That is, until he rolled out his equipment. Looking like something from a naff school disco, Daniel's was then joined by some rather embarrassed looking volunteers and their owners. The poor pooches had to 'dance' around to Baha Men's 'Who let The Dogs Out'. Unsurprisingly, the DJ received for 'no's.

Great Scott

Last but by no means least (or maybe we do) was dancer Great Scott. The 35-year-old left us all feeling a little confused as he pranced around rather seductively in a skimpy gladiator outfit. Looking very tanned and buff, Scott appeared to do a sort of strip tease for the judges, even giving David his spikey helmet.

Unable to look away, the judges let the dancer strip to his leopard print undies before he was finally stopped. Unfortunately, the poor lad did not get through to the next round.
