Rihanna enraged fans in Holland earlier this week after rocking up more than two hours late for her own show.

The 25-year-old singer is currently in mainland Europe with her Diamonds World Tour, but while there's been no shortage of ticket sales since she hit the road back in March, there's also been no shortage of controversy – with the latest slew of questionable headlines coming after she kept fans waiting for a show at Sportpaleis in Antwerp on Wednesday (June 5).

It's understood that RiRi arrived two hours later than planned before turning in what has been described as a lacklustre performance after spending the day shopping at the Alaia showroom in Paris.

Angry fans have since lashed out at the star's tardy behaviour – and accused her of lip-syncing her way through a string of hits.

“There was a wall of reinforced concrete between Rihanna and the public at Sportpaleis,” wrote Standaard music critic Sasha Van Der Speeten in a review titled 'Rihanna in a Bad Place.' “The pop icon played almost two hours on autopilot...it had the effect of a Valium overdose.”

In her article, Van Der Speeten also claimed the singer rarely danced and murmured only a few of her famous lyrics during the show, leaving the rest to a backing track.

“Just some words,” she wrote. “Shameless. Careless. How f***ing lazy and complacent can you get, girl?

“Besides the bored swaying back and forth like a rich drugged baby during We Found Love, she didn't dance.”

Despite the controversy – disappointed fans have also vented their anger on Twitter – Rihanna's tour continues to go from strength to strength with sell-out shows across the US and Europe.

British fans will be able to judge the singer for themselves later this month when The Diamonds World Tour rolls into the UK for shows in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Birmingham and Sunderland.
