The X Factor 2013: What Is This Year's Winner's Single? Demi Lovato, Emeli Sande, More

With just days to go until The X Factor final, we know that the race to the 2013 Christmas Number One is also upon us. But which song will Sam Bailey, Nicholas McDonald or Luke Friend be releasing as their coronation hit?

With the usual tabloid leak yet to surface, we've killed time in the interim by naming five of our own predictions. Which do you think Bailey (who, let's be honest, is 90% certain to win) would do the best job with?

Sam, Luke and Nicholas: Who will win? (WENN)

Demi Lovato - 'Skyscraper'
This would be a win-win for the X Factor family, really. Firstly, the song has already proven popular this year, with Demi's original flying back into the iTunes charts following Hannah Sheares' performance at her Arena Audition. Secondly, the hitmaker is a judge on the US edition of the show, so what better way to thank her for two years of service than with a wad of extra royalties? Plus, with Union J poised to release it as their winner's single in 2012, we know bosses think it's a good choice.

Emeli Sande - 'Read All About It Part III'
This is fast becoming a standard go-to tune for contestants, and with Sande being inescapable over the last couple of years, we wouldn't be shocked if this track were chosen for this year's single - especially as all three of the finalists could 'Put Their Own Spin On It'.

Jason Mraz - 'I Won't Give Up'
Every year this song returns to the charts, and every year it's because some finalist or another sang it on The X Factor. Mraz, knowing this, shouldn't hesitate to approve of either Sam, Luke or Nicholas releasing it.

Leona Lewis - 'Footprints In The Sand'
It's The X Factor's 10th birthday year, so this'd be quite a nice 'meta' choice of single, don't you think?

Goo Goo Dolls - 'Iris'
As with the Mraz track above, Goo Goo Dolls must have made a considerable amount of dosh from contestants' performances sending their original recording soaring back up the bestseller lists. And if the winner were to release a cover of it, it would not only mean more royalties for them, but purist fans of the original would flock to re-purchase the first cut in protest. Everybody wins!
