Zayn Malik 'Almost Fired From One Direction After Refusing To Get Out Of Bed'

It would be pretty hard to imagine One Direction without Zayn Malik but it almost happened with Morgan Spurlock, who has directed the boy band's upcoming film 'This Is Us,' revealing that the group were ready to “fire” the heartthrob when he couldn't get out of bed.

The 'Best Song Ever' hitmakers, who will be premiering their first ever movie tonight at London's Leicester Square where thousands of fans have flocked to catch a glimpse of the stars, held a press conference yesterday where they teased details of the film, however, no one would have guessed that Zayn nearly came close to getting booted out of the band.

Liam Payne has dished the dirt on what the band are really like and it looks as he had no trouble describing Zayn as the laziest member.

“The first week we got together it was all a bit strange trying to get people together for rehearsals. Still to this day it's a struggle to get Zayn out of bed,” Liam said during the conference. Spurlock chimed in: “Remember he didn't show up and you were going to fire him?”

They wouldn't dare! Meanwhile, thousands of fans have descended on Leicester Square ahead of tonight's premiere where the band will be walking the red carpet before heading to a screening of the film which follows the boys as they embark on their 'Take Me Home' world tour.

One fan spoke to Sky News about her hopes of catching a close-up view of the singers: "With our numbers that we got they said that the first 200 would probably be right at the front of the barriers so hopefully we get to meet a few of them and get an autograph, maybe a photo," said 22-year-old Rohays Vonmrtzinger.
