A crash on a main road in Birmingham has led to it being closed - causing chaos ahead of rush hour. The crash took place on the A4540 Newtown Middleway, westbound from Dartmouth Circus, near Matalan, to New Town Row.

Buses have been diverted on the road closure is leading to traffic queues on nearby roads including on the opposite carriageway as motorists look at the scene of the crash.

West Midlands Roads has reported ‘heavy traffic and delays’ around Dartmouth Circus. This is a live breaking story and updates will follow below.
