NFL Star Zach Wilson's Mom Welcomes His Fiancée Nicolette Dellanno to the Family After Engagement News

NFL star Zach Wilson's fiancée Nicolette Dellanno has the seal of approval from the other most important woman in his life — his mom!

Following Zach's announcement on Sunday, June 30, that he and Dellanno, 22, are engaged, his mother, Lisa Wilson, shared a post on her Instagram Stories celebrating the happy news and welcoming her future daughter-in-law to the family.

"Love this beauty with all my 🤍," Lisa wrote in a text caption over a photo of the couple posing together after the Denver Broncos quarterback, 24, popped the question. "Couldn't have handpicked a better partner for my son. Congrats @nicolettedellanno and @zachwilson."

Zach shared the same photo on Sunday, along with another snap of Dellanno standing in front of the ocean in Italy's Amalfi Coast as she showed off her oval-shaped diamond ring. He also included a photo of the pair cuddled up together on a bench and a solo shot of his fiancée sitting on the same bench.

In the caption of the post, Zach wrote a touching tribute to Dellanno: "To the love of my life, I never truly understood what love was until I met you. You’re not just my partner, but my best friend and my everything. I can’t wait to make a lifetime of memories with you, Nic ❤️. I love you."

Dellanno replied in the comments, "I love you so much🥹 best friend for life." She also announced the engagement on her own Instagram page, sharing some of the same photos from the Italy proposal along with a sweet message for her husband-to-be.

"Zach, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me," she wrote. "Every day I admire your strength and I’m so incredibly proud of you. I’m so in love with you and can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together 🤍. I love you."

Zach and Dellanno began dating in June 2022. They were spotted publicly for the first time at a New York Yankees game that month. Though they keep their relationship pretty private, Dellanno regularly shares photo highlights from the couple's vacations and adventures together on social media.

The athlete, who played college football for the Brigham Young Cougars, joined the NFL in the 2021 draft as a second-overall pick by the New York Jets. He served as starting quarterback for the AFC East team for three seasons before being traded to the Broncos in April 2024.
