Nov 29 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Friday's National Hockey League games: --- Rangers 3, Flyers 0 Martin St Louis scored to register his 1,000th career point and goaltender Cam Talbot stopped 26 shots for his second shutout in 10 days as New York blanked Philadelphia 3-0. Defenseman Dan Boyle and left winger Rick Nash also scored and center Derek Stepan had three assists for New York. The Flyers are 1-6-1 in their last eight games and were booed off their home ice. - - - Blackhawks 4, Ducks 1 A day after Thanksgiving, Chicago feasted on an undermanned Anaheim at Honda Center. Right winger Patrick Kane scored twice for Chicago while centers Andrew Shaw and Brad Richards contributed a goal each, with Richards adding an assist. - - - Capitals 5, Islanders 2 Left winger Alex Ovechkin and Washington cooled off the red-hot New York Islanders. Ovechkin scored the game-winner while centers Andre Burakovsky and Evgeny Kuznetsov, as well as left winger Marcus Johansson and right winger Joel Ward scored for Washington. - - - Hurricanes 4, Penguins 2 The Carolina Hurricanes posted their third road victory of the season, defeating Pittsburgh 4-2 to take the first game of a home-and-home series that will conclude on Saturday. The winning goal was a fortunate one after Buffalo center Tyler Ennis' dump-in took a lucky bounce off the end boards and fell right to Moulson in front of an unguarded Montreal net. - - - Bruins 2, Jets 1 (OT) Defenseman Dougie Hamilton scored with 1:21 left in overtime to give Boston a 2-1 victory over Winnipeg, the Bruins' 13th straight home win over the Jets' two-city franchise. Hamilton, who assisted on Milan Lucic's tying goal in the second period, took a pass from center Carl Soderberg and beat former Bruins draft pick Michael Hutchinson for Soderberg's second assist of the game. - - - Canucks 5, Blue Jackets 0 Goaltender Ryan Miller pitched his second straight shutout for the Vancouver Canucks, making 31 saves in a 5-0 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena. Miller, who had 25 saves in a 2-0 win over New Jersey on Tuesday, has three shutouts this season and 32 in his NHL career. He has stopped 63 straight shots on goal, dating back to the second period of last Sunday's 4-1 win over Chicago. - - - Panthers 3, Senators 2 Right winger Jimmy Hayes scored the game-winning goal with 12:29 left in the third period as Florida rallied to a 3-2 victory over Ottawa. Oshie scored once and assisted on goals by defensemen Kevin Shattenkirk and Alex Pietrangelo for his first multi-point game this season. - - - Wild 5, Stars 4 (OT) After blowing a three-goal lead, Minnesota left Dallas with a 5-4 overtime win over the Stars thanks to the game-winner from defenseman Marco Scandella 2:04 into the extra frame. Scandella's fifth goal of the season came when he tipped in a backhand pass from forward Zach Parise, one of his three assists.
