Nick Montgomery set for rapid management return after Hibs exit as sacked boss 'in the frame' for A League job
Out of work Nick Montgomery has been linked with a quickfire return to management with Western Sydney Wanderers.
He only departed Hibs on Tuesday but has already been linked with a return to Australia. Montgomery’s stock is still sky-high as he led Central Coast Mariners to the A League title last season. That success saw him headhunted by Hibs to replace Lee Johnson at the start of the season.
Montgomery was only given one transfer window and inherited a Hibs squad that was well over budget before he was shown the door. Western Sydney have just parted company with Marko Rudan just four months into a three year contract. Montgomery has been linked along with former Hearts star Patrick Kisnorbo, Alen Stajcic and Tony Popovic.
