Nicki Minaj has spoken out about her recent encounter with Amsterdam police suggesting it was a calculated attempt to stop her from performing.

The global rap sensation thanked her fanbase, the Barbz, for their support during the troubling time. She took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express her appreciation. "Thank you to everyone who prayed for me today. May God cover you and all that is connected to you. May you be blessed beyond your imagination."

She then accused the police of deliberately preventing her from arriving at her planned performance in the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, adding: "So they succeeded at their plan to not let me get on that stage tonight." Nicki also said she recorded the incident.

The Anaconda hitmaker didn't shy away from voicing her anger, claiming this was part of a pattern and that she has plenty of video proof. She said: "I have sooooooooo much video evidence. You wouldn't believe it if I told you."

She added: "They sure did know exactly how to hurt me today but this too, shall pass. They've been doing this over and over and over and over and over again and I've tried so hard to not discuss it b/c you guys deserve to just get the good stuff. I hate involving you in anything that isn't for entertainment purposes only."

Minaj disclosed that she was detained for five to six hours before being permitted to board her flight which then faced a 20-minute delay causing her to miss her scheduled performance. The journey itself took just 50 minutes but the hold-up had a significant impact on her plan to perform to audiences in Manchester, the Mirror reports.

In her statement, Minaj said: "That's why they had to do the big song and dance b/c they knew I'd still find a way to perform even if it came down to my last 90 mins in the building which would have been until 11.30pm. The building was willing to go past 11pm. So grateful to them for that."

Nicki went on to apologise to her fans who were looking forward to the show, assuring them that she will reschedule the concert for either June or July, with further details to be shared on Sunday. She also hinted at an extra treat for those attending.

Additionally, the singer shared her hotel information, indicating her desire to interact with fans from her balcony or perhaps meet them in person downstairs. She expressed her wish to see her supporters, saying: "I'll be out there for about an hour.

"Rlly wanted to at least get to see you. But if you're in bed plz STAY THERE. I'll update you guys tmrw. Love you." She requested her fans keep the noise down, mindful of the late hour and the neighbours. She posted: "I hear yall. How did yall get here so fast? ! ? Finally a smile. Thank you. 2 mins. But not so loud. It's almost 2 in the morning ppl tryna sleep."

Nicki Minaj's Manchester concert is set to go ahead as planned on May 30. The star also promised her eager fans an additional performance this coming Sunday.
