As previously reported, Minaj documented her arrest on social media, before the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that she was released. “We have just released a 41-year-old American woman who we arrested this afternoon at Schiphol on suspicion of exporting soft drugs. After consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, the suspect was fined and can continue her journey," the translated statement read.

In an Instagram Live video recorded and broadcast by the musician, officers could be heard telling Minaj that she was "under arrest" for "carrying drugs," asking her to get in a van to go to a police station. Minaj asked for a lawyer and denied the claims at the time, before complying.

Minaj later wrote on X that she believed the arrest was an attempt to "sabotage my tour," as she was en route to a tour stop at Co-op Live in Manchester, England, which was ultimately rescheduled for June 3.

"They’re being paid big money to try to sabotage my tour b/c soooooo many ppl are mad that it’s this successful & they can’t eat off me. They got caught stealing money from my travel/jets. Got fired. Got mad. Etc," she wrote, adding that her security team told official she had marijuana pre-rolls in her bag.

Minaj later issued an apology to her fans days later, telling supporters outside her hotel in Manchester (where he flight was headed) that she was "so sorry this happened tonight" after having to cancel her gig there. She also thanked "everyone who prayed for me today" in a post on X.

"After sitting in a jail cell for 5-6 hours, my plane still didn’t take off for another 20 mins once I boarded. The flight was 50 mins. 50 mins," she wrote.

"That’s why they had to do the big song & dance b/c they knew I’d still find a way to perform even if it came down to my last 90 mins in the building which would have been until 1130pm," she continued. "The building was willing to go past 11pm. So grateful to them for that."

"So they succeeded at their plan to not let me get on that stage tonight. I succeeded @ getting to the root of it all by recording them & posting everything in real time," added Minaj. "I have sooooooooo much video evidence. You wouldn’t believe it if I told you. I’ll have the lawyers & GOD take it from here tho."

She offered her "deepest & most sincere apologies" to supporters at the time and shared that she's "going to create an added bonus for everyone that had a tkt for this show."
