Nicole Appleton found second baby 'easier' at 45
Nicole Appleton says becoming a mum again at the age of 45 has been "easier" than when she had her first baby in her 20s.
The All Saints star welcomed her first child - son Gene, now 22 - with her first husband Liam Gallagher when she was in her late 20s and she became a mum again in 2020 when she gave birth to her daughter Skipper, four, with second husband Stephen Haines - and Nicole thinks having a child later in life has been less stressful.
She told OK! magazine: "It’s been the best. I find it easier now. I don’t know why. I was younger before. But [the second time around you’ve] been there, done that."
Nicole even insisted other women who are thinking about having a child later in life shouldn't hold back. She added: "If I had any advice for women who want to become mums later in life, I’d say if you can, just go for it."
The singer is currently busy working on her Magic FM radio show, but she's insisted she would happily get back on stage with All Saints - especially if they were asked to perform at the legendary Glastonbury Festival.
She added: "All Saints would love to perform at Glastonbury, absolutely. We’ve spent 25 years together. But when it comes to performing, not this year.
"We’re all sort of doing our own thing at the moment, so it’s kind of nice that we can have a little bit of a break. I’m quite happy doing what I’m doing and the girls are happy doing what they’re doing, but it’s all good."
Nicole's son Gene seems to have inherited musical talent from both his mum and dad, Oasis star Liam, and she says he's actually very good.
She told Fabulous magazine: “A lot of my friends who aren’t in the music industry have kids who tend to follow in their parents’ footsteps. It’s natural.
"But the fact is, he’s really good at it. Gene can sing better than his dad!
"I can’t wait for the world to hear him. He’s got his own band, though he won’t tell me what they’re called.
“He’s very private about what he’s doing, but he’s been rehearsing non-stop and says: ‘Mum, once everything is ready, you’re going to know everything.’
“He also plays drums for his dad’s band, so he tours everywhere with him."
