Nina Dobrev Bounces Out of Her Seat During Surprise Turbulence on Private Jet with Boyfriend Shaun White
The couple, who have been together for four years, were traveling in Switzerland when White captured his girlfriend’s hilarious reaction
Nina Dobrev experienced some surprise turbulence during a recent private jet ride — and her boyfriend Shaun White caught it all on camera!
On Monday, the retired professional snowboarder, 37, shared a series of photos and videos from his trip to Switzerland with the Love Hard actress. In the last clip of the Instagram post, White pokes fun at Dobrev’s reaction to some sudden turbulence.
In the video, Dobrev, 35, holds her phone up to the window to record when the plane hits a bump. She continues to record with a shocked impression on her face but is immediately interrupted as the plane starts to shake even more.
The Vampire Diaries alum then lets out a scream while White, the cameraman, starts laughing hysterically at his girlfriend almost falling out of her seat.

White is not the only one who found Dobrev’s reaction funny.
In response to a comment that read, “Nina was not too pleased in that last clip🤣😅,” the Olympic gold medalist wrote back, “hahaha when fun isn’t fun anymore…”
He dropped three crying laughing emojis underneath another user’s comment: “the laugh of shaun in the last slide.” White also agreed that the plane ride was a “wild one” in response to a different comment.
However, a little turbulence is not enough to keep Dobrev and White from traveling. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE in May, White opened up about how much he loves traveling with his girlfriend of four years.
“My girlfriend, Nina, she's probably the only person I've met that's traveled more than I have,” he said. “She really is such a great companion to travel with, and we've been hitting the road recently to just so many places.”
From Antarctica to Indonesia, White is always ready to pack his bags and jet off to the next destination with Dobrev.
The Olympian recently found himself on the slopes across the world in Utah as part of a contest in partnership with Vrbo. White teamed up with the vacation rental company to invite one lucky winner (and 14 of their friends!) to Eagle Point Resort for a once-in-a-lifetime snowboarding experience. The entire resort was shut down so guests could spend quality time with the snowboarder and learn a few of his tricks.
Vrbo's "Book the Mountain" experience was first announced in Oct. 2023 and also included a Boulders vacation rental to accompany the excursion. The price of the entire trip, $12.60 per night, was a nod to White's signature move — the Double McTwist 1260.

Winner Carly Krygier said of the experience: “It was a dream being on a mountain with no one else around, where lifts are running empty and they’re just for you. The best memory I’m going to take from this experience is seeing my 10-year-old daughter ride with Shaun. It was just so cool to have my whole family ride together.”
