Police swooped on a Nissan on the M6 and were shocked with what they found. Members of Warwickshire Police's Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) clocked the car last night (June 24) due to its 'manner of driving'

But after stopping the car on the motorway, they found the driver had no licence or insurance. But, in a post on the team page on Facebook, they said another feature of the car caught their eye. They said: "More worryingly the engine oil was on the outside of the engine.

"This one is a lesson in doing your vehicle checks, this could have easily ended up on fire." The stop came hours after the M6 was blocked at Junction2 because of a lorry blaze.

The team seized the vehicle and a PG9 prohibition was issued. The driver, who has not been identified, was also reported to court.
