No fingers need to be pointed after Kristoffer Klaesson’s car crash this week and Daniel Farke is just relieved Leeds United’s goalkeeper has returned in good shape. The Norwegian stopper was involved in a collision that made the local newspapers in his homeland, but thankfully walked away without any injuries.

Klaesson returned to Thorp Arch later in the week and has trained well, according to his manager. Farke reassured supporters his back-up goalie was in a good place, mentally and physically, while a conversation about the incident means there’s no need for a blame game.

“I don't like to comment too much on what happens in the private life of my players because they are all mature and all adults,” said Farke. “I [would] rather speak about sport in comparison to their private life, but I have to say we were all a bit shocked when we heard the news there was a car accident and also a few pictures.

“We were really concerned and I was really happy to hear, physically, everything is okay and also mentally he was okay. That's the most important thing and the only thing that matters.

“We had also a short chat to speak about the situation, he explained what happened and I totally trust and I have not one reason to doubt his words. There is nothing to criticise or to accuse.

“It was just a very, very unlucky accident, at least what he has explained and I have no reason to doubt his explanation for that. I'm just relieved and happy, as we all are, he came out of this difficult situation, physically, without any problems and also, mentally, no problems.

“He was able to deliver good training performances in the last two days and that's the only thing that matters.”
