'No Heat, No Light': London Tube Passengers Stranded in Dark

Passengers on the London Underground were left stranded for hours, as all trains stopped between London Paddington and Reading, on Thursday, December 7, due to electrical wire damage.

Transport for London reported the cancellation of services due to damage to overhead wires.

Footage posted by Mikey Worrall shows passengers in the dark on a stopped train. Worrall said there was “no light, no heat, no announcements,” adding that people were opening the train doors.

The National Rail said on Thursday evening that major disruption was expected to last until noon, on Friday, December 8, on the Elizabeth line. Credit: Mikey Worrall via Storyful
