With the news that Caz Milligan has decided to cancel his upcoming boxing fight with Rangers legend Nacho Novo, people have flocked to social media to have their say.

The TikToker took to Instagram to confirm he would no longer be fighting the former Ibrox star in front of a crowd at the OVO Hydro next month, declaring that he's "lost so much money" after admitting he "had bit off more than he can chew".

In the post, he said: “I’ll take accountability on that. I had a successful first event in a hotel and I got the contacts to the Hydro and I got the contacts with Novo and I just got too excited and we just went too big too early. I’m taking everything on the chin, It’s upsetting, it’s emotional and it’s things I’ve not dealt with before."

Blaming fears over the footballer's previous heart problems, he confirmed anyone who did buy tickets from Ticketmaster would receive a refund, adding that it's a "bump in the road" that’s cost him "tens of thousands of pounds".

And people didn't hold back in their criticism of Fife-born Milligan, who has previously fought fellow TikToker Alan Shields aka the Property Boss, over his decision to try to stage the fight in the first place.

One person said: "Couldn't fill a bowling club to watch this."

Another responded: "This couldn't sell out in my back garden."

Others were shocked that he was using apparently not knowing about the former Ranger's forward's previous health problems as an excuse.

"Are you kidding me, he never knew about Nacho having heart issues in the past," wrote one poster. "Where did he live, another planet?"

With another adding: "Caz Milligan cancelling his fight in part cause he’s para the power of his punch is so mighty it could kill Nacho Novo. You need to respect the self confidence."

Others pointed out that he should be fighting someone in "good health" and his "own age".

Some were shocked that the venue even considered staging the fight in the first place, with one Tweet reading: "How on earth did the Hydro even entertain that Caz Milligan nonsense?

"When Open Goal were going to do the Hydro there were real concerns that they could fill it. Yet they entertained the idea of a TikTok t**t doing it and have bankrupted him in the process?"

Some though were less scathing in their responses and bigger him up for "chasing his dreams".

"There's one thing having a dream but you still need to stay grounded and have a bit of reality," responded one person. "You tried but don't mix ambition with ability."

Another offered him support, posting: "Sorry to hear this Caz, gutted for you and everyone else. Looking forward to seeing your next adventure."

A third supporter wrote: "Head up bro, can't blame yourself for trying something big, dust yourself down and go again."
