North Down General Election 2024 results in full as Alex Easton claims huge victory
Independent unionist candidate Alex Easton pulled off a stunning result in North Down as he unseated sitting Alliance MP Stephen Farry .
The DUP and the TUV did not run candidates in the North Down constituency in favour of Mr Easton challenging the incumbent Mr Farry and the former DUP man triumphed with 20,912 votes.
Mr Farry served as the MP for North Down since 2019 after taking the seat vacated by popular independent unionist Lady Hermon. But he came unstuck against Mr Easton, who made a fourth and finally successful attempt to secure a Westminster seat.
Mr Easton appeared to be on the verge of tears as he paid tribute to his parents and celebrated victory at the count centre.
