North Staffordshire singer Carla Brash once saw off a certain Gareth Gates in a talent show - and has now hit the right note on a radio quiz. Carla appeared on the daily Ten To The Top music quiz on BBC Radio 2 this morning.

The singer, from Checkley, came out the winner in what turned out to be a north of the county versus the south contest on the show usually fronted by Vernon Kay. Today and it was Gary Davies standing in with Carla taking the crown.

In an impressive show of musical knowledge Carla, who performs with a covers band, only got one question wrong and scored an whopping 30 points. She saw off Tamworth rival, Simon McKenna, who ended on 24.
