A North Tyneside care home is appealing for kind-hearted people to send birthday cards to a resident who is turning 100.

Dorothy Browne, 99, who is a resident at Redesdale Court Care Home, was born on June 9, 1924. She will be celebrating the special occasion with friends and family, but the North Shields care home would like to make it extra special.

Staff are asking people to send her a birthday card saying it "would mean so much to Dorothy".

Rebecca Ridley, home manager at Redesdale Court Care Home said: “From everyone here at Redesdale Court, we would like to wish Dorothy a fantastic 100th birthday.

"We’d love people to send cards to the home to mark the milestone because it would mean so much to Dorothy, reading the well wishes and messages from others in the local community.”

Any cards people wish to send should be sent to Redesdale Care Home, Rake Lane, North Shields, NE29 9QS.
