A once popular restaurant that closed after a double tragedy has now been sold. Brookhouse Mill had been one of the best known eating destinations in Denbigh and the surrounding area.

But the husband-and-wife team who had run Brookhouse Mill for years died within 14 month of each other. John Hall, 61, had passed away in March 2021, with thousands of pounds raised for The North Wales Cancer Appeal in his memory, and his widow Karen died in May 2022 at the age of 51.

In the summer of 2022 the family of Karen and John Hall made the "difficult decision" to close the popular site. It then went up for sale in 2023 at a guide price of £500,000.

Now it has been confirmed that the site has been sold by estate agents Cavendish - subject to contract. It is understood the deal is due to complete next month.

No further details are available at this time. It is hoped locally that the former flour mill will reopen as an eating place again.

Speaking at the time of the site going on sale, the family said: "It is with great sadness that Brookhouse will close and be offered for sale with the hope that a new owner can be found to take the business forward for the next 41 years. Brookhouse Mill has been the place for so many special occasions and created so many memories that have touched peoples lives."
