North Yorkshire is home to some of the most breathtaking coastal spots in the region, and Filey has been honoured with the title of 'best beach' last year.

Boasting a picturesque promenade, stunning panoramic views, and an expansive five-mile stretch of golden sand, it's no wonder that Filey is a favourite among those seeking a peaceful day by the sea. Situated between Scarborough and Bridlington, Filey is garnering heaps of praise on TripAdvisor, with visitors stating they "cannot fault" this beautiful piece of North Yorkshire coastline.

With 1,938 'excellent' ratings on TripAdvisor, Filey Beach isn't just capturing hearts but also securing top-notch reviews. Currently holding the second spot for things to do in the area, Filey boasts an impressive 4.5-star rating.

One reviewer, Jacqui S, shared her love for the beach, saying: "Glorious to walk down to the coast from the centre of town and see the expanse of coastline and just watch the world go by. A lovely area and plenty to see and do," reports Yorkshire Live.

She continued, "It was popular and that was February. A bit of a climb back up to town, manageable though, and plenty folk were doing just that."

Shane, a visitor who was thoroughly impressed with Filey Beach, added: "We cannot fault this beautiful, large, sandy beach and our two dogs Monty and Stumpy thoroughly enjoyed their visit to a deserted beach. A gorgeous beach."

Julie R recounted her pleasant experience: "We had a late autumn day trip to pretty little Filey. We walked on the Brigg and were thrilled to see dolphins swimming in the bay. We had a big walk on the sandy beach, dog friendly this time of year. Parking was also free out of season but not all public toilets were open. Looks like it would be lovely to visit in the summer and swim in the sea."

She further complimented the town's facilities: "Nice selection of shops and cafes in the main town, and beautiful public gardens."

Chris A admired the cleanliness and rules of the beach: "Miles upon miles of wide open sandy beach. Extremely clean and employ a no dogs policy on the main area of the beach."

Melody S labelled Filey Beach as a hidden gem: "What an absolute gem of a place! Beautiful beach and an Olde Worlde feel to the prom. It was very busy and parking was a bit of a nightmare but I'm so glad we persevered in finding a parking spot. If parking at the top of the hill be aware. Beach Approach has lots of steps."

She also praised the local food offerings, saying: "There's a fish and chips restaurant on the front which has tasty food but a little expensive. We thoroughly enjoyed our day here and will definitely be returning."

Hollieeee was enchanted by the beach's allure, remarking: "Came here to finish off a day in Yorkshire in June. A long, beautiful, picturesque stretch of sand. The view was something I could never have dreamed of seeing but I'm so glad I got to. Gorgeous, sunny, and ethereal. I'd recommend visiting here, even for five minutes."

Visitors have been sharing their thoughts on Filey beach, with one guest, EllBee, noting the spot's appeal despite challenging weather : "Very windy and almost high tide when we visited so we couldn't get on beach but can imagine in summer this place would be delightful."
