Norton in Hales on the climb in NSSCL Premier B after crucial success

Norton in Hales climbed out of the NSSCL Premier B relegation zone with victory at home over Caverswall.

The Tractor Boys set sail towards a third win of the campaign by piling up 213 all out in the early part of the afternoon.

Rameez Aziz orchestrated thir march past the 200-mark with 56, which included eight fours and two sixes.

Aaron Thomason (41), James Pringle (35) and Dane Tinsley (27) were also in good nick.

Sabah Ghaus scooped 4-37 for Caverswall and there were two wickets for Eklavya Gupta.

Caverswall folded to 75 all out in reply - and in the process dropped into the bottom two spots.

Mark Stokes (16no), Lewis Wright (13) and Sam Wainwright (11) were the only batsmen to reach double figures.

The damage was done by a trio of Norton in Hales bowlers.

Chris Dyer took 4-14, with Antony Sheeran and Aziz finishing with 3-11 and 3-14 respectively.

Silverdale are propping up the rest after a seventh defeat of th season, this time at Ashcombe Park.

Ashcombe Park produced a solid batting performance to stick 222 all out on the board.

Haroon Mahmood (35), Phil Clowes (34), Hamaiz Mahmood (32) and 25 apiece from David Proffitt and Jacob Johnson helped them to their tally.

Ethan Sherriff (3-16) and Muhammad Chaudary (3-49) took the bowling honours for Silverdale, with Matthew Deyzel adding a double.

Silverdale gave the chase a reasonably good go, fronted by Matthew Baker’s 40 not out, 29 from Matthew Moore and Chaudary’s 26.

But it wasn’t enough as they were dismissed for 175, thanks to Nathan Ball, pictured, (4-39) and Johnson (3-25).

Eccleshall won by three wickets at home against Alsager.

Alsager progressed to 163 all out in the first half on the back of Thikshila De Silva’s 48 and 32 from Greg Phillips. Ejaz Nawaz and Myles Coughlan claimed 3-30 and 3-41 respectively. There were also a couple of scalps for Deklan Binnington.

Greg Clark then proved to be the star attraction in Eccleshall’s successful chase.

He made 76, hitting 11 fours and two sixes, to set them on their way. Coughlan chipped in with 33, before Jack Knapper (21no) put the finishing touches to matters.

Tom Bason and De Silva shared four of the wickets to fall.

Knypersley’s improvement in form continued with a home win against Elworth.

Daniyal Hussain Rajput top-scored with 74 in Knypersley’s 193-9.

Rajput’s knock featured eight fours and one six, with support forthcoming from Danny Baker (33), Darren Butler (27) and Michael Dodd (24).

James Burnett helped himself to 4-59 for Elworth.

Elworth couldn’t find a batsman to make a match-winning score in their reply. Harry Newton (22) and Chris Winter (20) did their best, but the Cheshire visitors were skittled for 120.

Munir Ur Rehman Tanzil picked up 5-21 and there were two wickets apiece for Liam Hopkins and Rajput.

Second-placed Wood Lane lost ground to the leaders following a defeat by Whitmore.

Half-centuries from Ryan Roberts and Danyal Hussain proved to be key to Whitmore’s 188 all out.

Roberts hit eight fours and two sixes in his 51 not out, while Hussain’s 50 featured eight boundaries and one maximum.

Eddie Visser (3-23) and Arbaz Hussain (3-32) did the damage with the ball for Wood Lane.

Their reply fell into a early trouble as they were reduced to 18-4.

Richard Hassall (33) and Omar Ali (26) steadied the ship, but the writing was on the wall and Wood Lane fell to 114 all out.

Khalid Hamidi scooped 6-25 for Whitmore, with the other wickets being shared by Bilal Hussain and Jafar Chohan.

Newcastle & Hartshill are now 50 points clear at the top after defeating Leycett.

Leycett looked to be in good order after Connor Uren’s 66 and 45 from Dan Redfern saw them reach 135-2. But the wheels fell off and they were bowled out for 162.

Sachithra Perera took 5-32 for Castle and fellow spinner James Cronie struck twice.

Muhammad Usman Ahmed (3-56) looked to keep Leycett in contention after the interval.

But Cronie (48), Perera (43no) and Rohan Vallabhaneni (33) guided Castle to a four-wicket triumph.
