Norwich City's Achilles heel can be used to Leeds United's advantage in Elland Road semi-final

Despite a rather underwhelming finish to their Championship campaign, Leeds United have the opportunity to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking in the coming weeks.

The Whites ended their league season by taking four points from the final six games, ending up six points behind Ipswich Town who secured automatic promotion alongside Leicester City. United will now turn their attention to the play-offs, where they face Norwich City.

Daniel Farke's side have beaten the Canaries both home and away this term, with their last defeat in East Anglia over six years ago. And Leeds will take confidence from their form on the road and in front of their home supporters, hoping to use it as an advantage over the course of the two-legged tie.

Only bettered by Kieran McKenna's side, the Whites amassed 53 points from their 23 games at Elland Road this season, losing just twice, both of which came in the penultimate month of the campaign to Blackburn Rovers and Southampton. Their record away from LS11 is also among the top sides in the division, ranking as the fourth best in the Championship.

Norwich have turned Carrow Road into a fortress this season having accumulated 49 points throughout the course of the campaign. However, it has proved to be away from home that stopped David Wagner's side from potentially shaking up the race for the top two.

From their 23 games away from East Anglia, the Canaries managed to pick up just 24 points which included 11 defeats. When compared to the other sides in the division, the teams who finished in the bottom five of the standings were below them.

Given Leeds' impressive record against Norwich on their own turf and their impressive form at home, this could play significantly into their advantage. However, the play-offs seemingly never play out the way many imagine.

The Canaries last win at Elland Road came back in February 2019. The Championship encounter saw Whites boss Farke in the opposite dugout, emerging 3-1 winners to leapfrog Leeds and go top of the division thanks to goals from Mario Vrancic and Teemu Pukki.
