Yahoo News Nottingham Forest FFP points deduction update emerges as appeal timeline set
Nottingham Forest will hear their appeal against their points deduction heard next week as uncertainty remains over when the outcome will be confirmed.
Forest were charged with a breach of the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability rules earlier this season. After being found guilty by an independent commission, they were deducted four points, with the club seeing the punishment cut by two points due to their cooperation.
The Reds confirmed last month that they would appeal the decision as they continue their fight against relegation. In a similar position are Everton, who were docked a further two points earlier this month with the Toffees are also appealing the decision.

BBC Sport now report that Forest’s appeal will be held on Wednesday, April 24 and should take no longer than a day. There is however still uncertainty about when the final decision will be made, meaning that Forest may still be forced to wait.
There is not yet a date been made public for Everton’s appeal, which will come after Forest’s. The Premier League have though confirmed that they are seeking an outcome before the final day of the season on Sunday, May 19.
Everton were docked ten points for a previous breach of the same rules earlier in the season. On appeal the club got the punishment reduced to six points.
There had been previous worries that the outcome of appeals against the two points deductions could come after the final day of the campaign. The Premier League put in a backstop date of May 24, which was five days after the final round of fixtures and means that clubs would not be certain of their final league decision and therefore their divisional status even after the final full-time whistle was blown.
