Nottingham Forest have been left sweating on the fitness of three key players after their 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Defenders Neco Williams, Murillo and Willy Boly all seemed to pick up knocks in the Premier League clash at the City Ground. All three were forced off during the game against the reigning champions.

Boly was making his comeback from injury but was substituted with five minutes to go on the banks of the Trent. Murillo was brought off 10 minutes earlier, having seemed to hurt himself while making a challenge.

Williams had made way just past the half hour mark. He had gone down and required treatment, meaning Forest were down to 10 men for a corner from which Josko Gvardiol opened the scoring.

“Let’s assess them. Neco, Murillo and Boly - we have a lot of things to assess,” head coach Nuno Espirito Santo said. “Hopefully it is nothing serious and we can count on them for the next one, because it is important.”

Midfielder Nicolas Dominguez was not included in the match squad for the game. But Nuno was coy over whether the Argentine would be available for the Reds’ final three games of the season.

“Nico had a problem and was out. Let’s recover all of them. We have to assess them,” the Forest boss added.

The Reds remain one point above the bottom three with three games of the season remaining. They expect to hear within the coming days the outcome of their appeal hearing against their four-point deduction for breaching financial rules.
