Nottingham is set to be hotter than some popular tourist spots in Europe this weekend, with highs of 22C predicted for the city. The Met Office has given out sunshine and warm temperatures, with highs of 21C on Saturday (May 18) and 22C on Sunday (May 19).

Saturday is expected to be cloudy with outbreaks of sun from 5pm. Sunday will bring the best of the weather, with sunshine from 6am through to 9pm, with the 22C highs - expected at 4pm - making the city hotter than Lisbon, Portugal, and on par with Majorca, in Spain.

This brighter weather is expected to continue into the week, with sunny intervals on Monday, May 20, and Tuesday, May 21, with highs of 19C.

Other tourist spots with similar temperatures this weekend include Prague, in the Czech Republic, which will reach 22C on Sunday, whilst Paris, France, and Berlin, Germany, will reach 21C. However, those in Budapest, Hungary, will have more luck this weekend with highs of 24C.
