People will be able to watch the 2024 general election results pour in at a Nottingham nightclub. The Rescue Rooms is hosting an election watch party on July 4, with doors opening an hour before the polls close at 10pm.

Those attending will be able to watch coverage of election results as they are announced across the country. No end time has been set for the event, with election results set to continue being announced well into July 5.

There will be live election coverage on the big screen during the event, as well as election night bingo and political party-themed cocktails. A 'Liz Truss lettuce' will also be making a special guest appearance and there will be a party leaders fancy dress competition.

Pat Somers, from DHP Family, said: "It's the first election where a lot of young people feel like they have the opportunity to be heard and effect change with their vote, and here at Rescue Rooms we want to encourage participation in politics, whoever they vote for, and make our country a better and fairer place.

"It might get a little bit silly, but who says politics can't be fun?" Entry to the Goldsmith Street venue, run by DHP Family, will be free on the night.
