Nottingham and Nottinghamshire's best and worst schools for pupil progression
With May just around the corner, thousands of pupils across the UK are now in revision mode and preparing for their GCSEs. It can be an incredibly stressful time, and schools across the region are working hard to support the teens ahead of the exams.
Each year the government compiles all the performance data from each school and college across the country in order to check pupils' progress. These are called Progress 8 scores. The latest data for the 2022/2023 academic year is now available.
We have taken a look at this data and identified the top five schools in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire as well as those at the other end of the list. Bluecoat Wollaton Academy has been named the best in the city with a score of 0.44, which is above average.
Meanwhile, for Nottinghamshire, it is the Ruscliffe Spencer Academy leading the way with a well above-average score of 0.84. For our list we have excluded schools with fewer than 50 pupils included in this measure. You can see the top and bottom five schools below for each area, but you can also view the data here to see how well your school did.
