A Nottinghamshire duo are preparing to launch a second location for their mobility business. The pair opened Prime Mobility in Eastwood back in 2022 and, despite the cost of living crisis, the business is doing well and the co-owners are expanding with a second store in Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

Prime Mobility sells everything from mobility scooters to rise recliners and walking aids to stair lifts. In addition to a lot of new stock, the business also prides itself on selling quality pre-loved items.

Co-owners Shah Baig and Josh Wardle will be opening the new store on Monday, May 20, and will have some special offers available on the day. Mr Baig said: "We have been in the industry for over 10 years and we used to work for a mobility company before we decided to go out on our own and open our business.

"It's been really good here, we specialise in all sorts. We try and give good customer service and aftercare and we try not to be pushy, and I think that is what gives us repeat customers." Reflecting on when the business opened, he added: "To be fair, we probably opened in the worst time because everything went up in price.

"A lot of our suppliers put their prices up and shipping costs went up. Our general view was if we can get through this then we can get through anything." The pair employ a part-time staff member at the Eastwood store, in Nottingham Road, and have hired an additional staff member for the new store in Low Moor Road.

Shah described it as being a "family-run business" and says he and Mr Wardle work really well together and have strengths in different areas which makes them a great team with a combined 12 years of experience in the industry. For the whole opening week the store will have 10 percent off on everything, and they also offer repairs and services at the shop and customer's homes.
