The organisers behind the rave that Jay Slater attended before his mysterious disappearance in Tenerife a week ago have spoken out about the incident. Jay, a 19 year old lad from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, has been missing after he reportedly tried to walk back to his digs, located more than 30km away, following a night at an Airbnb with mates he made at the NRG music bash.

Since Monday (June 17), there's been no word or sign of Jay, who is thought to have set off by himself into the challenging hills of Rural de Teno park, close to Masca village. He rang his pal Lucy, saying he was lost and that his phone was about to die, with the call cutting off suddenly around 8.50am as his mobile gave up the ghost.

CCTV footage has surfaced showing the young bloke at a buzzing rave in south Tenerife just hours before he disappeared.

In the clip, captured at the unnamed spot, Jay is spotted with flashy sunnies perched on his head, weaving through the throng.

NRG, the event Jay is said to have been at the evening before he vanished (Sunday, June 16), has now come forward with a comment on Instagram.

They've shared their heartache over his vanishing act and are providing "practical" help to his family, who've jetted over to the island to look for him, as reported by the Manchester Evening News.

"Firstly, thank you to everyone who came to our NRG event in Tenerife last weekend," the statement on Instagram began. "As you'll be aware, among the attendees was 19-year-old Jay Slater who, after leaving the event, was reported missing in the north of the island on Monday."

"We are grateful for the many thousands who have engaged with and shared the appeals from our own and many other channels over the days since," it continued.

"Despite the widespread coverage and hard work of the local authorities and volunteers involved in the search, at the time of posting Jay has not yet been found. That such a devastating situation has arisen has deeply affected us all."

"We have been able to give some practical support to the members of Jay's family who have come to Tenerife in such difficult circumstances, and we are inspired by their resilience and determination."

"Like them, and you, we continue to hope for Jay's safe return. The authorities in Tenerife can be contacted with any information which may be of help on local numbers 062 or 112. Thanks for your support."
