New Nuneaton mobile clinic to hit GP car parks to help patients hit by hospital delays

A new mobile clinic is to hit GP car parks across Nuneaton, Bedworth and North Warwickshire. to help patients hit by hospital delays. Based within a converted van, the bespoke clinic will be primarily for patients under the George Eliot Hospital Heart Failure (HF) Service.

The 'HF Mobile Clinic' will visit patients focusing on what are known as the ‘Core20PLUS’ areas across North Warwickshire. ‘Core20PLUS’ is the local phase of a national scheme to help reduce health inequaltites.

In a report to the hospital's trust board, it explains: "The mobile clinic will initially be based on General Practitioner (GP) car parks and will provide daily titration clinics to help ensure that patients have access to timely treatment, normally delayed within the current hospital modelling due to waiting times.

"The service will also provide a monthly “Healthy Heart Roadshow” to the general public providing free blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes checks, in line with healthy heart and wellness advice. We will be working alongside our Primary Care and Community colleagues."

Work is now underway on the design for the clinic including what facilities it will have inside. The new HF clinic is set to be discussed at a hospital board meeting on Tuesday (June 4).
