Nuneaton's NatWest bank has revealed a change that every customer will notice. The branch on Bridge Street is located within a Conservation Area of Nuneaton.

It has applied to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council for permission to replace the two external ATMs to the right-hand side of the building. It says that two new ATMs will be installed in their place.

But changes will have to be made to the front of the building. "It will mean that the existing apertures are to be altered to suit the new ATMs," the planning application states.

"New ATM collars and backing panel are to be installed with new Natwest branding and all disturbed finishes to be made good to match existing."

In the application, it explains why the change is being made. "The new ATMs will increase convenience for customers by allowing better access, a more ergonomical design and cyber protected security," the planning document explains.

"They also feature Bluetooth and voice control. The new ATMs will have no detrimental effect on the fabric of the building."

The proposal is now being looked at by planners at the borough council. As part of this public consultation is held.

People can view the proposals via the council's website here, searching in the planning section for reference 040255. The target decision date for the application is June 10.
