Police have put a dispersal order in place around Nuneaton town centre. They say it is in light of 'further incidents of anti-social behaviour' this evening (June 16).

Rarely used locally, the dispersal order gives police the power to move on groups of two or more young people within the 'dispersal order' area. This, the police say, has been granted to cover Nuneaton town centre as defined by the ring road including Riversley Park.

It is not known how longer the dispersal order will be in place for. Nor have any details of the nature of the 'incidents of anti-social behaviour' that have taken place.

A post on Nuneaton and Bedworth Police Facebook page explained the dispersal order and appealed: "Parents/Guardians if you have unsupervised children out and about can you ensure you keep them out of the town centre whilst the dispersal is in place, Thankyou."
