Nottingham Forest have appointed a new head for their data analytics department as preparations for the 2024/25 Premier League season step-up, according to Training Ground Guru.

The role, recently vacated by Dan Morris, has been filled by Francisco Belo who joins after three-and-a-half years at Wolves where he worked with Nuno Espirito Santo. Belo arrived at Molinuex in January 2021, with Nuno leaving four months later.

Belo becomes the Reds’ new Head of Sports Data Insights and will work across the first team, academy and women’s team. At Wolves he provided analysis of the team’s performance and insight into Premier League rivals. Morris was at Forest for two years and has returned to previous club Swansea City.

Over the last four seasons, I spent so much of my life in and around Wolverhampton, and I genuinely loved it! What a place to learn and grow! I’m excited for the new challenge ahead and can’t wait to get started!”

Belo has also worked as technical coaching analyst at Everton for five years, during which time he achieved a degree in Sports Coaching at Liverpool John Moores University and a Master of Business Administration at Manchester University.
