Nuno sends Nottingham Forest transfer warning after finishing season 'on a high'
Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has warned Nottingham Forest must brace themselves for interest in some of their top young talent this summer.
The Reds made absolutely sure of another season of Premier League football as they ended the 2023/34 campaign with a 2-1 win at Burnley. And now attention will turn to where they go from here.
Player sales are on the cards in the upcoming transfer window as the club look to avoid falling foul of Profitability and Sustainability Rules again. It doesn’t necessarily mean there will be a fire sale, but Nuno says it is inevitable some players will attract interest from elsewhere.

Asked whether he expects much by way of transfer business in the coming months, the Portuguese said: “You never know in football. You have to realise that the way we finished this season, some players in our squad are going to attract interest, for sure. They are talented, they are young and they are in a good moment of their careers. You cannot control these things. We have to see what happens.”
Nuno admitted it is “frustrating” the financial rules mean clubs - and not just Forest - are sometimes forced to let players go. The Reds also have a number of players whose contracts are coming to an end and loan players who will return to their parent clubs.
“We have to make decisions, but they are not tough - they are based on what we believe,” Nuno said. “Not tough decisions. I don’t consider them tough decisions; they are part of the job.
“We are very, very happy and proud of the way we finished the season. We all know how tough this season was for all of us at the football club.
“It was important to finish on a high - winning and achieving the main objective from when we arrived. Our fans are going to see Premier League football next season.
“Now we need to rest. Everyone needs to rest because it was very tough.”
