Nutella Is Not Pronounced How You Think And Suddenly Nothing Makes Sense

Nutella is one of the greatest food inventions there has ever been but the way you pronounce it is not actually the way you should pronounce it.

The hazelnut chocolate spread is good on pretty much everything - from pancakes to toast to the best way possible - straight out of the jar.

Now obviously, the name is pronounced ‘Nut-ella’ because, nuts.

Or so we thought - that isn’t a nut at the start after all.

According to Ferrero, who make the sweet treat, the nut is actually pronounced ‘newt’ - and everyone has been saying it wrong for the past 51 years.

In fact, the exact pronunciation is answered on the company’s website, casually telling us: “Nutella (pronounced “new-tell-uh”) is a tasty, unique spread.”

So despite being a chocolate nut spread, there is no actual ‘nut’ in the name and our whole world has just collapsed in on itself.

However - we’re not changing for anyone and we get the feeling no one else is going to either…
