Octopus Energy issues '25 per cent off' announcement for customers

Octopus Energy has issued a "25 per cent off" announcement to energy customers. Octopus, which is rivalled by EDF, EOn Next, OVO, British Gas and more, has confirmed changes for energy customers through an exciting loyalty scheme.

Octopus Energy is "offering great-value eats and festival beats through ‘Octoplus’", it says. New restaurant discounts Monday-Thursday for Octopus customers who have signed up to ‘Octoplus’ rewards scheme and customers also get the chance to win free tickets to Camp Bestival, Valleyfest and Wychwood Festival.

Energy users can now get 25% off at six different brands of restaurants thanks to a new tie-up between Octopus Energy and Mitchells & Butlers. From today, customers can get discounts on meals between Monday-Thursday at any Harvester, Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery, Toby Carvery, Ember Inn or Sizzling Pub – all part of the Mitchells & Butlers Group.

Over 1.5 million Octopus customers have already signed up to the ‘Octoplus’ scheme, gaining redeemable ‘Octopoints’ simply by keeping a healthy energy account or reducing their energy usage during the company’s legendary ‘Saving Sessions’.

Rebecca Dibb-Simkin, Chief Product Officer at Octopus Energy, commented: "As a Harvester regular, I’m over the moon that they’re now offering discounts for customers who are helping out the grid or keeping a healthy energy account. It’s never been a better time to sign up to Octoplus and benefit on food, festivals and days out. Keep an eye out for even more exciting announcements to come."

To be eligible for ‘Octoplus’, customers have to receive electricity from Octopus Energy, have an operational electric smart meter (i.e. receiving half hourly readings from it) and pay via Direct Debit. Business customers and smart prepayment customers can also join ‘Octoplus’.

Eligible customers can sign up via the banner in their online accounts or in their app, the energy firm says.
