The Office US finally gets spin-off update
The Office US co-creator Greg Daniels is reportedly working on a spin-off series set within the same universe as the hit sitcom.
According to Deadline, Daniels is set to team up with Nathan for You co-creator Michael Koman to make the follow-up show should it be greenlit.
Rumours of a potential remake or spin-off have been circulating for years, with Daniels stating in November 2023 that, if he did ever revisit to the mockumentary, it would be for a spin-off rather than a reboot.

"I don't like to think of anything as a reboot, you know what I mean? Because I feel like we ended that story beautifully. The characters had closure," he said.
"I would never want to redo that same show with a different cast, because I think we got the luckiest cast, the best cast ever, in TV, to do that show. So the notion of a reboot is not of interest."
Daniels continued: "The notion of maybe something like the way The Mandalorian is a new show in the Star Wars universe, you know what I mean? Something like the notion of this documentary crew doing a documentary about a different subject. That, I think, could be intriguing and creative."

The Office US, which itself is a remake of Ricky Gervais' UK series of the same name, concluded in 2013 after nine seasons.
Meanwhile, it was announced last year that an all-female version of the show set in Australia is also in the works.
The Prime Video series will see Felicity Ward play Hannah Howard, the chief of a packaging company who tries to "keep her work family together" following the news that staff will have to work from home post-Covid.
