Leeds United could have a new-look forward line when the new season gets under way in August. With many of the current goal-getters linked with moves away from Elland Road, Daniel Farke will have to react quickly to gaps in his squad.

They have been linked with several forward-looking players already this summer, and have players within the squad who will continue to play a key role. Tottenham's Oliver Skipp and Basel winger Liam Millar are two that Leeds have been credited with interest in, while free agent Callum O'Hare is one that has attracted plenty of attention.

Crysencio Summerville, Willy Gnonto and Georginio Rutter could all move on in the coming weeks, although Leeds may not have to sell all three. It could leave Farke with a lot of work to do, but there are still options for a potent attacking force as they look to challenge for promption to the Premier League. Here's how Leeds could line up even without their attacking trio.

4-2-3-1

A familiar set-up for Farke, who has used this formation for the majority of his time at Elland Road. Ilia Gruev has been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund, but signing Oliver Skipp from Tottenham would be the perfect replacement. Skipp and Leeds youngster Archie Gray could form a useful central midfield partnership, allowing Gray to push forward while Skipp can play an anchor role.

Two widemen and a No 10 then complement a central striker in a system that served Leeds will last season. Millar can operate on the left, with Dan James having a key role on the opposite flank, and O'Hare as the No 10.

4-4-2

Sticking with the same midfield pairing, Farke could be somewhat more adventurous with the addition of Mateo Joseph or Joel Piroe to the starting line-up. This would have the advantage of meaning one less forward to sign, although Blackburn's top goalscorer Sammie Szmodics would fit the bill here. Everton remain keen on last season's sensation, however. It does perhaps mean a less marauding role for Gray, with those central positions vital to keep the shape of the side.

4-3-3

With such talent on the wings available last season, it was no surprise that Farke opted to exploit this area. However, if there is no Summerville or Gnonto to call on, he could turn to a more fluid system. Archie Gray can provide the link between midfield and attack, with a forward line capable of dropping in an out of key positions.

This would again create a role for Callum O'Hare, with Ethan Ampadu or Glen Kamara also a midfield option. Leeds missed Ampadu's presence in midfield when he dropped into the back line, but that would mean Farke signing central defenders to free up the Welshman.
